Its name, Siete Altares, comes from seven calm pools and clean waters that make up this place. There are actually more pools but seven are distinguished by their size and beauty. It is a protected area that has natural richness varied among flora and fauna of the region.
It is possible to find crabs, butterflies, fish and exotic wildlife in the place. Hunting is severely forbidden and persecuted, it is still possible to be lucky and see these specimens in their natural habitat,
Only a few minutes away from Playa Blanca and a few minutes away from Livingston, Izabal hides among its forest on the seashore, a course of crystalline turquoise pools. This protected area must be included in any visit to the region.
